Playboy Magazine -- Miss November 1992 Centerfold Feature IF THEY COULD SEE HER NOW -- MISS NOVEMBER, A DESCENDANT OF THAT ADAMS FAMILY, HAS BIG PLANS "I had a teacher who once told me 'C plus B equals A.' Meaning: 'If you conceive and believe, you will achieve.'" Meet Stephanie Adams of Jersey City, New Jersey, superachiever -- not to mention fashion model, artist, clothing designer and, of particular note this election month, a relative of the second and sixth presidents of the United States. "Yup, I'm blood-related to John and John Quincy Adams," Stephanie says with a shrug, quickly adding that her aunt Bootsy has the paperwork to back up the claim of presidential lineage. "Family lore has it that John had a couple of girlfriends and, well, you know..." Then she breaks into a laugh. But the celebrated ancestry of the Adams family is just one aspect of Stephanie's already remarkable life. At 22, she's headed for the big time and shows no sign of slowing down. "There are so many things I want to do," says the part-West Indian, part-Irish, part-Cherokee, completely gorgeous model. "I want to be on the cover of every magazine -- the female equivalent of Michael Jackson. This is where I belong." When Stephanie was small, her folks were always on the road -- Dad is in public relations for Harrah's casinos -- so she was raised by her aunts Pearl and Joyce, both former models, in Orange, New Jersey. It was the aunts who gave her the modeling bug. "Joyce was the Wella hair girl in the Sixties," says Stephanie. "I've posed in front of the camera since I was in diapers." Stephanie attended Catholic school from kindergarten through high school, dabbling mostly in art (the nuns actually put her sketches of nudes on display), clothing design (her fantasy label: Einahpets -- or Stephanie spelled backward) and interior design. "When I was eight, my reading material was "House Beautiful," "Architectural Digest" and "Vogue." I decorated my dollhouses and crocheted blankets for my dolls. I took it all very seriously." By the time she reached the tenth grade, Stephanie hit new heights -- five foot eight, to be exact -- and that's when she decided to become a model. "I was sixteen and I realized that I really could do it." Charm school was the first order of business. Stephanie took classes in everything from speech to make-up to behavior. That year, she booked her first gig, the video for George Benson's "Masquerade." "I played the love interest of a Mafia guy who winds up getting killed," she recalls. Next, it was off to college at nearby Fairleigh Dickinson University, where Stephanie landed degrees in business management and marketing "so I could market myself as a model and manage the money I made." After graduation, the jobs began to roll in: a stint on "The Cosby Show" ("I danced at one of Theo Huxtable's parties"), a string of rap videos on MTV and ads for Sprite and Clairol. Her newfound success also brought her into contact with some of New York's rich and famous, including Donald Trump ("He approached me at a loft party and began with, 'You look familiar...'"), Eddie Murphy ("My girlfriends and I met him at the China Club and we all went back to his house in Jersey. He was a perfect gentleman"), New York Mets outfielder Daryl Boston ("We've always been buddies") and Dolph Lundgren ("We met at Grace Jones's birthday party"). Last spring, Stephanie wandered into Playboy's Chicago offices on a lingerie photo assignment. Our photographer took one look at her and whisked her off to meet Senior Photo Editor Michael Ann Sullivan. Within two weeks, John Adams' great-great-etc.-granddaughter became a Playmate. In other words, C plus B equals A -- or, in this case, A-plus. Daily News -- Article By Richard Johnson -- Wednesday, October 14, 1992 Playmates, Spin-doctors for Clinton (Photo: John Quincy Adams -- What would sixth Prez make of Steph?) It seems just about hopeless for President Bush, what with all the important opinion-makers jumping on the Clinton-Gore bandwagon. The latest endorsement for the Democrats: Playboy's Miss November, Stephanie Adams, 22, who claims to be a direct descendant of the second and sixth Presidents of the U.S. Before you get to the centerfold (unmarred by staples these days), the 34C-23 1/2-34 beauty says she'll save herself for Bill Clinton on Election Day. "I like him," Adams said. "He's intelligent and he has charisma, both qualities important to leadership." Her turn-ons? "Big cats, fast cars, Nintendo, kisses and music."
New York Post -- "Page Six" By Richard Johnson -- Thursday, October 15, 1992 (Photo: Stephanie -- Good Friends) The last time we saw Playboy centerfold Stephanie Adams, she was thisclose to Ch. 9 talk-show host Richard Bey. Recently, however, the November playmate made sure we understood that she and the talk show host are "just friends" and that Elite Models guru John Casablancas is her main squeeze. Interestingly, Casablancas' assistant, Marie, also used the "very good friends" tag to describe her boss' relationship with Adams. Said Marie: "They're not dating."

The crowd included Wilhelmina model/Playboy Miss November Stephanie Adams, fresh from the arms of Johnny Casablancas - and, as she reminded us repeatedly, now single. Said she: "Hey, I'm allowed to take publicity shots now. I'm on my own. I just couldn't mix business with pleasure anymore."
Daily News -- Article By Richard Johnson -- Thursday, November 5 1992 (Photo: Stephanie Adams: Centerfold leaves Casablancas' fold) All you guys who were admiring Stephanie Adams in the November 1992 issue of Playboy, she's available. She'll resume her life tonight at Country Club, where owner Myles Chefetz is celebrating his birthday.
New York Post -- "Page Six" By Richard Johnson -- Thursday, November 12, 1992 (Photo: Adams -- A Busy Night) And they say it's hard to get a date in New York. It seemed that all Sean Landeta, John FRanco and the other jocks at the Country Club Tuesday wanted to talk to 22-year old Stephanie Adams, the November Playmate. But Adams kept mum when asked about her social activities the previous night, when, a source says, she had dinner with Robert De Niro in his TriBeCa apartment, and then went to Donald Trump's apartment for cocktails with the builder.

New York Post -- "Page Six" By Richard Johnson -- Tuesday, November 5, 1996 (Photo: Stephanie -- Fight For Me) Armed forces veterans finally have the firm, bountiful, and well-rounded support they deserve - Playboy's Miss November 1992, Stephanie Adams. The patriotic pin-up - and five decades worth of her scantily-clad compatriots splashed in "The Playmate Book" - are tossing a benefit bash called Operation Playmate: A Salute to America's Veterans Nov. 11 at the Motown Cafe. The book launch party raises money for New York-based veterans groups - and gives Adams a chance to inform her drooling fans that she's divorcing her Italian investment banker husband, who must be rich. Her lawyer is Raoul Lionel Felder.
Daily News -- Monday, December 2, 1996 HOT COPY By A.J. Benza The only thing we like better than Playboy playmates on the run from their former husbands, fiances and boyfriends is when they're running straight at us. Either way, we're always thrilled to see them throw off the shackles of commitment. It's better for the sake of fantasy. It looks as though Stephanie Adams, a 1992 centerfold, is officially single again. We reached her the day before Thanksgiving as she headed over to see lawyer Raoul Felder, at $450 an hour. "I'm late, so I can't talk too long, but I'm going to pick up half my settlement today," she told us. Stephanie, a mix of African-American, Cherokee, Sicilian and West Indian, was married to an NYC investment banker for two years before they separated last March. "It's always nice that the holidays are here and I can have some security now," she said. You know we feel more secure already.
Daily News -- Tuesday, February 18, 1997 (Photo: Danelle Folta, Stephanie Adams and Helena Antonaccio bring centerfolds to life for Carlos Moore.) Playmates Salute Veterans Francisco Esquilin was a soldier in Vietnam when Helena Antonaccio first posed for Playboy in 1969. Last week, the still-stunning beauty and the vet stood face to face - and Esquilin could barely contain his glee. "I came back from Nam the year you posed," said Esquilin, now 49 and an outpatient at the Bronx Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Kingsbridge. "Playboy was everywhere in Nam. What do you think we were fighting for, liberty?" Antonaccio was one of four Playboy Playmates to pay a Valentine's Day visit to the hospital. Attracting appreciative stares from former soldiers and sailors young and old. "We got a lot of fan mail from soldiers and veterans from Vietnam," said Antonaccio, who revealed that she would bare all once again in an upcoming issue. "You feel like you know these people sometimes." Stephanie Adams (Miss November 1992), Danelle Folta (Miss April 1995) and Teddi Smith (Miss July 1960) toured the hospital and signed autographs. "It's important that you send a love message to everyone on Valentine's Day," said Smith, who graced the cover of Playboy five times in the 1960s. "Especially to these people here. These people are real heroes." World War II veteran Lindbergh Allen, 68, was half asleep when Folta and Antonaccio walked into his room in the hospital's nursing home - but he was wide awake when he asked for their autographed pictures. "There is a God," he said. "Thank God for them," Folta said of the veterans. "When you realize that these are the people who fought the Nazis, it's kind of moving." Ruth Kerr, 22, stood in the hallway as the Playmates posed for pictures with her fiance - 29-year-old Sean Mahoney, an Army veteran who has been in a wheelchair since being critically injured in a car accident several years ago. "I'm not jealous because I know he doesn't like them," Kerr said. "I plead the Fifth," Mahoney said.

New York Post -- "Page Six" By Richard Johnson -- Saturday, July 14, 2001 Simmins in all-night prowl KISS rocker Gene Simmons lived up his randy reputation during an after-hours crawl for willing women yesterday. Long-tongued and libidinous Simmons guzzled several bottles of champagne with 10 lovelies at Nello's downtown, and simultaneously managed to flirt with the eatery's eye-catching bartender, model Christina Nergresco. Among Simmons' harem was hot-to-trot hat designer Ivy Supersonic, who at one point straddled Simmons' lap, giving diners a revealing view up her skirt that left no doubt about her disdain for underwear. Nello's patrons were also treated to the sight of Simmons lasciviously licking and kissing several of his comely companions. That was just the start. Supersonic - who Page Six readers will recall bedded Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher - followed Simmons and his posse to a party afterwards at midtown restaurant Etoile. There, Simmons, Mets outfielder Jay Payton and Red Sox star Nomar Garciaparra chatted up Playboy Playmate Stephanie Adams and a bevy of other beauties. At about 2 a.m., Simmons and company headed over to Suite 16 in Chelsea after model-wrangling promoter Danny A assured the rocker there would be plenty of nubile young lovelies jiggling on the dance floor. Unfortunately for Simmons, younger and hunkier celebs were getting all the attention, including Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, Carson Daly, Guy Oscary and Adrien Brody. Brody, star of "Summer of Sam" and "Saving Private Ryan," was seen flirting with a sexy publicist at the bar, and Daly Oscary, who came together, were also spotted working the crowd. Meg Ryan - sans on-again, off-again playmate Russell Crowe - also stopped by Suite 16, as did solo supermodel Carmen Kass, who may have moved on from long-time boyfriend Richie Akiva. The most curious couple there, was Sean "Puffy" Combs - who spent the night flanked by two bodyguards and pecking away on his two-way pager - accompanied by his litigious ex-lover, Kim Porter. Even though all the star wattage dimmed Simmons' prospects of picking up more women, he remained optimistic. Once he approached Page Six and begged us to introduce him to an attractive acquaintance of ours.

She Magazine -- Cover Feature -- February 2003 "The other day, I heard our managing editor say to a friend, "Our February issue has it all. Not only is it our anniversary issue, complete with our annual face-lift, but it is also our annual sex issue. The only thing we could do to top that would be a naked woman on the cover." Well, we may not have a completely naked woman on the cover, but we came about as close as it gets with Stephanie Adams, Playboy's Miss November 1992. As she celebrated her 10-year anniversary as a Playboy spokesperson, Stephanie decided it was time to publicly come out of the closet, exclusively with She. Megan Cossey talks with Stephanie about her experience as a centerfold and spokesperson, discovering her true sexuality, her life partner and more." -Sandee Birdsong Pioneering Playmate FROM THE COVER (Photos: Stephanie Adams) According to her Playboy playmate online profile, Miss November 1992 Stephanie Adams' turn-ons include Strawberries and cream, big cats, fast cars, Nintendo, kisses and music. She loves painting, reading and traveling and hopes to one day be a successful actress. Nowhere does it mention that she also really likes women. Of course, as Adams points out, her Playboy persona is not the real her. No kidding. Her Playboy Cyber-Club bio also states that her "Prince Charming" is "Good looking, successful, intelligent, and willing to do anything to make me happy," a bill her current girlfriend may indeed fit - minus one big sticking point. Last December, the 32 year-old Playboy spokesperson, model and November 1992 centerfold, sat down with She magazine amidst the afternoon clatter of a West Village diner in New York City and opened up about ex-boyfriends and an ex-husband, the dawning realization of her sexuality while working in an industry that portrays its models as heterosexual by default and the love that finally gave her the determination to be the first Playboy model to come out publicly as a lesbian.

She Magazine -- Cover Girl Update -- June 2003 (Photo: Stephanie Adams) For those of you who follow the bunnies, we have some updated information on our very own Stephanie Adams. As we are sure you remember, Stephanie was the first Playboy playmate to come out as a lesbian and did it in our February 2003 cover story. "When I was in She Magazine, I was working on my manuscripts and hoping to get my book published. Now I have 5 books coming out this year and a long-term contract with one publishing company to write books for them on a yearly basis," Stephanie told us in recent conversation. "One of the books is a lesbian astrology book and I dedicate it to my girlfriend," which is scheduled to come out towards the end of this year. On another note, Stephanie says "Playboy is doing a feature about me in their August issue for four of my books and will do a separate issue about my lesbian book and cover feature from She Magazine." Sorry girls, the upcoming story won't have any nudity. For that you might need to get your hands on a November 1992 copy of Playboy. "I did not want to do a nude pictorial, because I did not want to take away from my books and future projects," she says. Stephanie also plans to become more active with a few gay/lesbian organizations and also plans on spending a great deal of time promoting, volunteering and becoming more of an advocate in the gay/lesbian community. To keep updated, visit Stephanie's new website: www.sapphica.com.
Playboy Magazine -- "Playmate News" -- August 2003 (Photo: SORCERESS STEPHANIE) There are plenty of playmates turned actresses, but Stephanie Adams may be the first playmate turned sorceress. "I've had psychic powers since I was young," Stephanie says. "My family loved to say that witches weren't always ugly old crones - they could be beautiful little girls like me. The funniest experience was when I was about two years old and I envisioned that one of my married uncles had a secret girlfriend. One night I asked why he hadn't brought her over to dinner. Turns out he did have a girlfriend, and his wife was not amused." Inspired by her knowledge of spirituality, astrology and the occult, Stephanie has written four books - under the pen name Sorceress - and created Goddessy.com, a website that offers tarot card readings, astrological charts, books and jewelry. "The books are fun and somewhat shocking," she says. "I've always enjoyed being controversial."

Written with humor and honesty, she reveals what it will really be like between every possible combination of sun signs together. No B.S. from our gal; she tells like it is - or rather how it would be if, say an Aries got "bullish" on a Taurus. Just met a Libra and you're a Capricorn? Dallas Voice -- The Community Newspaper For Gay & Lesbian Dallas Pride Officials Expect 5 Million
Celebrants At Events Across Nation A million people are expected to attend six Pride events in New York City, where a series of violent conflicts between gay residents and police outside of a gay hangout, Greenwich Village’s Stonewall Inn, became the founding symbol of the modern gay rights movement on June 27, 1969. “We’re expecting a bigger turnout this year due to the marriage issue, as well as the fact that this is the 35th anniversary of Stonewall,” said Phil Mannino, media director for Heritage of Pride, Inc., the organization that plans the events. New York City’s “Stand Up, Stand Out, Stand Proud!” celebration will feature a rally in Manhattan’s Bryant Park, the Dance on the Pier in Hudson River Park, PrideFest in Greenwich Village, a march down Fifth Avenue, a dance after the Dyke March, a marriage rally and a Mothers March Against AIDS — all during one week, June 20-27. During the rally, former Playboy centerfold and metaphysical book author Stephanie Adams will speak about about her decision to come out. Adams will also ride on a parade float.

Gay Pride Festival in Jersey City
Draws Politicians -- Monday, August 30, 2004 (Photo: Stephanie Adams) Walt Boraczek kicked off the Jersey City Fourth Annual Gay Pride Festival Saturday at Exchange Place with a simple declaration: "I am a gay American." Boraczek's send-up of Gov. James E. McGreevey's coming-out speech two weeks ago was met with applause and laughter... Mayor L. Harvey Smith took the stage in the late afternoon. "I want you to know that this is your city," he told the growing crowd. "Jersey City can't be a first-class city if we cannot respect everybody in Jersey City." A group of Jersey City police officers showed their support for the gay and lesbian community by taking turns being photographed with Stephanie Adams, the first Playboy centerfold to come out as a lesbian...
Jersey City Journal -- The Tris McCall Report -- Monday, August 30, 2004 Okay, two more bits of Jersey City carping before we turn the page on the calendar, and get on with September's agenda. Today's complaint (unlike tomorrow's) is relatively minor, but still telling. As many of you know, we had a well-attended Gay and Lesbian Outreach festival at Exchange Place this Saturday. The event was hosted by an organization committed to representing the local gay community: "Jersey City Pride", that's the name on the booklet. The group does a great job organizing these events, and in a city as queer as ours is, a summertime festival ought to be a given. JCLGO deserves credit for making it happen. So what's the problem? Take a look at the list of performers. We have: a New York deejay, a New York opera singer, Cheer New York, three New York singer-songwriters, the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps, a dance company headquartered on the Lower East Side, an Off-Broadway musical revue, a disco singer who has been performing "all over the New York area" (I guess that includes us), and a New York City band. Robin Renee is in there too; I like Robin a lot, but she's from South Jersey. The only performer who even bothers to mention Jersey City in her biography is the Playboy centerfold. Thanks to Stephanie Adams for coming out as a Jersey native...

She Magazine -- February 2005 (Photo: Sapphica Book By Stephanie Adams) Sapphica, 2005 Astrological Love Readings for Lesbians -- You might be lucky enough to remember Stephanie as a former She cover girl. Oh yes, she was also a Playboy centerfold and creator of the websites www.sapphica.com and www.goddessy.com. Yes, beauty and brains are a wonderful combination, add Stephanie's spirituality, and it is powerful indeed. She accurately tells it like it is, summing up the love essence of each sign. In her own words, "Sapphica uncovers every aspect of your love life (whether you are singled or coupled) and analyzes your love for others as well as yourself." While her format may be similar to other astrological books, she speaks to us sisters as only a sister can. I'm still amazed at how each month she pins the tail on my issues…Bullseye! Once again, there I was with my mouth open. Was she talking to me?! And her narrative gets right to the point: "Surely you don't have to take the advice given to you. Lots of people learn the hard way," makes it nearly impossible not to take a good, long, hard look at what she is saying to you.

The front of each “Gender Therapy” shirt offers a common gay/lesbian term, while on the back is featured a dictionary style definition. This unique wearable “coming out” therapy enables people to get out of the closet and on to the street--expressing not only their good taste, but also who they are. Launched in July 2005, Psycho Therapy Clothing is the brainchild of New York based filmmaker Keith Knight. As a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), he worked on films with stars like Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Steve Martin, Anthony Hopkins, Goldie Hawn, Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Many of the quirks of these A-list celebrities helped inspire him to form the company.“ At about $20 a shirt I thought this was a more cost-effective way to work out inner demons,” jokes Knight of his collection. “The high price of therapy these days had me thinking that I could help people with their psychological issues and their wardrobes at the same time." New York Post -- Sunday, May 28, 2006 EXCLUSIVE (Photo: Sexy Playboy model and gay advocate Stephanie Adams says police drew their guns and injured her in a dispute over a cab fare in Chelsea.) A group of cops didn't play nice with a Playboy Playmate, leering at her body and shoving her to the ground in Chelsea after a cab driver falsely claimed she threatened him with a gun, the model says. "I felt assaulted," said Stephanie Adams - The first openly lesbian Playmate - of the incident near her home at 11p.m. Thursday. "They pulled guns on me and they were several of them," the 35-year-old stunner said. "They know what happened was wrong, the way they looked at my breasts and crotch. I was wearing tight fitted pants and they could see I didn't have a gun, but they forced me down and pushed my face into the ground." Adams said the encounter left her with a sore back and she couldn't sleep afterward. "I'm an emotional wreck," she said. Adams, who filed a complaint about the incident with the 10th Precinct in Chelsea and the Civilian Complaint Review Board, said cops refused to give her their names and she never learned the name of the cabby. The incident started after the driver of a yellow cab picked her up on the Upper East Side, where she had treated her stylist to a birthday dinner, and headed downtown, Adams said. At 10:50 pm, they arrived at the corner of West 22nd Street and Ninth Avenue but the cabby refused to pull up in front of her door, claiming it wasn't convenient for him, she said. An argument ensued, with the driver screaming curses at her as she sat in the back seat, she said. So Adams - Miss November 1992 and an advocate for gay rights - called 911. The driver also called cops, telling officers she had a gun, she said. She climbed out of the cab and was standing across the street holding her phone when five to seven officers arrived and drew their weapons, she said. One threatened to shoot her, she claimed. The cops removed her bag and two of them forced her to the ground, she said, putting pressure on her back and pushing her face into the pavement. Adams got up and told them they could check her for a weapon. Two officers leered at her snug outfit and said they could see no place for her to hide a weapon, she said. They didn't frisk her or touch her inappropriately, she said. The cops told her she had to pay the fare, $10.60, which she did. They let the driver go, then took off. "He should have been charged with filing a false police report," she said. Adams called another police friend - Mike Petrillo, a respected community affairs cop at the 10th Precinct, and he walked her home, she said. She then contacted her lawyer, Raoul Felder, who plans to pursue the matter. Police spokesman Paul Browne acknowledged that the cabby claimed Adams had a weapon but said she refused to pay the fare. "She said she didn't want to pay because the cabby had stopped about a half a block from the front of her apartment building entrance, stopped the meter, and asked for payment," he said. Her complaint about the officers, he said, came after the cops "directed her to pay the cabby." brad.hamilton@nypost.com
FemmeNoir.net -- May 30, 2006 (GLBTQ News) An Ugly Ending To A Beautiful Evening (Photo: Stephanie Adams) "If He Was Bold Enough To Assault Me, Then I'm Bold Enough To Mention His Medallion Number (No. 2J70)" -Stephanie Adams Stephanie Adams planned for a beautiful evening celebrating her stylist's birthday. What happened was not so beautiful and became what she calls "one of my biggest nightmares." Thursday night (May 25, 2006) Stephanie Adams was on her way home from the celebration when the cab driver refused to stop at her front door claiming it wasn't convenient for him. An argument ensued which resulted in both calling the police. "He realized that I called 911 to make a truthful complaint about him, and in return, he called 911 and falsely reported that I had a gun and threatened to kill him." She immediately informed the 911 operator that the driver was making a false report and allowed the operator to "hear him screaming at me before he dialed 911 and made the false report." Stephanie recounts "I stepped away from him while I was on the phone with the lady from 911 and waited for help to arrive. I walked across the street and hoped that the people I knew from the precinct would show up fast. Expecting to have the police show up and help me, I received just the opposite and ended up being assaulted by members of the NYPD. It should not be a surprise that I have yet to step into another taxi thus far, and will probably take car services for now." Stephanie wants to make known she harbors no ill will toward the NYPD. In fact, this past February she wrote a tribute in honor of both the NYPD (The Silent Soldier) and our men in military on her site at MySpace. "Most of my friends work for the NYPD and I love them just as much they love me, if not more." She did file a complaint regarding the incident with the 10th Precinct in Chelsea and the Civilian Complaint Review Board, stating the cops refused to give their names and she never learned the name of the cabby.
Daily News -- Wednesday, June 7, 2006 Playmate Set To Sue NYPD BY NICOLE BODE (Photo: Stephanie Adams says cops shoved her to ground.) A Playboy playmate wants the NYPD to pay $5 million for allegedly getting too rough. Stephanie Adams - Miss November 1992 and the magazine's first openly lesbian Playmate - says cops used excessive force May 25 after she summoned them to help her deal with a hostile cabbie. She contends the cops turned their guns on her instead and shoved her to the ground. "I don't know why this happened to me. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else," said Adams, 35, of Chelsea. She announced she had filed a notice of claim - the first step toward a lawsuit - at a news conference with her lawyer Sanford Rubenstein in Brooklyn yesterday. The notice, filed yesterday, names the NYPD, the city and the yet-unidentified 10th Precinct cops who went to the scene. The incident began after the cabbie, Eric Darko, drove Adams from an upper East Side restaurant toward her W. 23rd St. apartment, but stopped before her door and ordered her out around 11 p.m., the claim said. Adams called 911, and Darko did the same. Adams contends the cabbie lied to the dispatcher that she had a gun and was threatening to kill him. An NYPD spokesman denied any wrongdoing by officers and said Adams did not complain at the scene that police acted improperly. Darko could not be reached for comment. The case is being investigated by the Civilian Complaint Review Board and the Taxi and Limousine Commission. With Alison Gendar nbode@dailynews.com
